About- What's the story?
When I was very young, books were the furthest thing from my mind. I never wanted to open a book without pictures. One thing I enjoyed was my Nintendo 64 and the Legend of Zelda game that came with it. The story intrigued me, and as the story expanded to new games, I could never get enough.
Enter in the Harry Potter movies. Harry potter and the chamber of secrets had just released, and as a family we watched both one and two. I was fascinated but the story line connecting between movies. It was my second experience with that. I was severely disappointed that a third movie wasn't out yet, but my mom told me that we had the next two books in the Harry Potter series. Reluctantly, I cracked a book and opened an entirely new world. I couldn't get enough. I read, re-read and read again the first four Harry Potter books exclusively over and over and over. It took a while for me to even consider another book series. I was asked to be part of the "Global Readers" competition at my elementary school, which I reluctantly joined, which meant reading new books. At which point I found a series called Rowan of Rin, that had five books in the series. After finishing those, it finally clicked. I was in love with story-telling.
From video games to movies to books, the art of the story-telling is a fascinating subject and one that has always been part of my life. Now books are my preferred medium of telling and receiving these stories, and with any luck, I hope to inspire someone else who hates reading or doesn't read fantasy, and bring them into an entirely new world where they can escape into something fun and easy that they would be comfortable to share with anyone!
